South, Blennerhassett Hotel Sign PIE Agreement
PARKERSBURG — Parkersburg South High School and the Blennerhassett Hotel and Spa have announced a new Partners in Education agreement. “We at the historic Blennerhassett Hotel and Spa already have a great working relationship with Parkersburg South High School, in as much as we employ several of their students on a part-time basis,” Wayne Waldeck, an owner of the hotel, said. “Our chef, Ron Shiflet, and I also serve on the culinary advisory board of the school,” Waldeck said. “We anticipate that our relationship will continue to grow, especially with the connection of the culinary school to our restaurant.” Such partnerships underscore the chamber’s dedication to connecting the business community with youth, said Jill Parsons, president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce.
